Pöttinger attracts attention at Farmshow (USA)
First Jumbo Combiline in North America
Brown County, Wisconsin: At the crack of dawn on the first day of Farm Technology Days 2008, one of the largest open-air agricultural shows in North America, the first machines vie for one of the front places on the route to the field demonstrations. The Pöttinger Jumbo Combiline 7200 L, hitched up to a Fendt Vario 936, lines up between a Claas Jaguar 980 and Krone Big X. With this configuration Pöttinger presents an alternative silage harvesting process designed to compete with self-propelled harvesters, long-established in US. The first spectators around the edge of the field watched in anticipation as the column of harvest machines drove by. Looking inquisitively at the Jumbo Combiline they will have thought that it is just one of the many transport trailers. Except that it is drawn by a tractor, and not by a truck like conventional trailers.
Imagine their surprise when, instead of lining up alongside a harvester, the Jumbo Combiline takes its own windrow, which then disappears into the chamber of the loader wagon - and the tractor/loader wagon combination leaves the self-propelled harvesters behind. When the machines have finished working and line up for the presentation, the spectators stormed the Combiline to get a closer look at the machine and find out more about how it works.
This short appearance shows yet again the potential of the American market for innovative ideas. And the loader wagon is an innovative system in North America - in contrast to the long history and status it has enjoyed for decades in Europe. With the launch of the Jumbo Combiline, Pöttinger can look forward to numerous new opportunities to expand into the North American market with an excellent product, offering farmers a more cost-effective, multi-role, quality harvesting solution.
The Farm Tech Days also witnessed a convincing field demonstration by the Novacat 8600 ED. Despite the crop lying in the field the mower produced an extremely tidy cut at high travelling speeds, its high performance again casting a shadow over the competition. This highly successful event for Pöttinger was rounded off with a high attendance at the show stand, where the Novacat V10 and the new Top 1252 4-rotor windrower attracted a lot of attention. Unfortunately the last day of the show was cancelled due to heavy rain, gales and storm warnings. The Farm Tech Days 2008 were a further step in spreading the word about the Pöttinger brand in North America, contributing to the increase in brand recognition and market share.
