For Alpine regions: the tedder

Agility on slopes

Pöttinger offers a wide range of tedders. In addition to the development of large-scale machines, special attention has been paid to requirements of farmers in Alpine regions.

The result: smart, tailor-made solutions with precision specifications for Alpine farms working on steep slopes, uneven terrain and large differences in elevation. The emphasis is on clean and tidy forage harvesting: best possible ground hugging, low level of loss due to disintegration and precision, time-saving operation.
With Pöttinger the farm can choose from a wide range of different models and working widths. In order to meet requirements in the field the product range offers various 4-rotor and 6-rotor tedders that are tailor-made for operation with a mountain tractor or twin-axle mower unit.

The 4-rotor tedder range for farmers who place value on high performance, top-of-the-range equipment and comfortable operation. These machines cover large areas efficiently, even in mountainous areas. The ALPINHIT 44 with 4 rotors features an extremely short headstock that can be fitted perfectly to any made of twin-axle mower and guarantees minimum weight alleviation from the front axle. The two larger 4-rotor tedders, the strong>HIT 470 and HIT 540, deliver excellent working quality when covering large areas with a stable headstock that can be fitted with stabiliser struts if required so that the tedder follows precisely in the tracks of the tractor, even on extremely steep slopes.

The special feature of the 6-rotor-tedder HIT 610 is its short headstock. The centre of gravity is located closer to the tractor hitch, reducing the power requirement of the tractor. 27 hp is quite sufficient to provide smooth operation. At 130 cm the diameter of the 6 rotors is very small. As a consequence this configuration provides excellent ground hugging, improved forage take up and a uniform pattern of distribution. The "HD" in the tedder tine designation stands for "Heavy Duty". These tines are more resistant to breakage and guarantee a longer service life. All HIT models now feature an integrated anti tine loss system as standard.
