Landmec Pottinger the exclusive importer and distributor of Pottinger products in Great Britain have been busy again demonstrating its Grassland range of equipment to farmers and contractors from all over Great Britain at the recent Grassland demonstration.

This year it was the turn of the South West of England to host the Grassland demonstration event which was held on a farm adjoining the Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet, Somerset. The South West of England being a strong dairy farming area saw this one day event help draw a large crowd of around 8,000 visitors to see a multitude of tractors and machinery at work.

Landmec Pottinger was operating a wide range of kit, the line up included:

The day started wet with around 2 hours of steady rain providing some challenging conditions for the machinery and its operators. But all the Pottinger equipment performed faultlessly with not a single blockage or problem the entire day despite the wet heavy lush crop.
Visitors to the Pottinger plot were particularly impressed with the cutting performance of the Novacat mowers especially the mighty Novacat V10 the largest tractor mounted combination mower available.
The stalwart of the Pottinger range for British farmers has to be the MEX VI forage harvester. With many hundreds of these machines still at work up and down the country it was pleasing to see this harvester tackling large swaths with ease and drawing a crowd whenever it was at work.

Undoubtedly though the biggest crowd puller of the day was the Torro 4500L Special Edition forage wagon which was making easy work of the large wet heavy swaths. Unlike many of our competitors whom were struggling with these conditions and suffering blockages the Torro proved why it still remains Great Britain’s No1 selling wagon. A faultless performance and consistent chopping from the new knife bank saw many impressed faces. This was the first chance for many British farmers and contractors to see this compact Special Edition Torro model at work, equipped with a special specification for British farmers the resulting level of interest and sales seems that this model will go onto be a strong seller.

All in all despite the early weather the day turned out to be a great success and for those of you that paid us a visit we would like to thank you and look forward to seeing you again during 2009.
