140 years of more success with Pöttinger

A long success story

At all began at a festival in Linz / Austria: Franz Pöttinger, a clockmaker, received a bronze medal for his forage cutting machine in 1871. He won this award exactly 140 years ago, the same year the company was founded. Pöttinger has been serving the agricultural technology industry ever since. In 1909 Alois Pöttinger took over from his father Franz and gave the company his name.

Pioneering developments, such as the self-propelled hay rake in 1960, earned Pöttinger an international reputation. Pöttinger was involved in the history of developing the loader wagon from the very beginning. In 1975 the company obtained the Bavarian Plough Factory to add tillage and soil preparation to its portfolio. Taking over the seed drill technology plant in Bernburg and building the production plant in Vodnany have also contributed to the company's success.
In addition to the ongoing expansion of the product range in the grassland, tillage and seed drill sectors, Pöttinger has invested in internationalisation over the years: with a total of ten subsidiaries and four production locations, the Austrian family-owned company is represented all over the world.

In our anniversary year we will ignite a huge "firework of innovations". We will be taking you by surprise during the summer - at the very latest at the big agricultural trade fairs in autumn. But of course we will keep you informed.

As is fitting for an anniversary we have developed a special logo to celebrate the event. Wherever you see this symbol you will be reminded of the long tradition of our successful company.
