Technical highlights

The pneumatic sowing system

High seed prices demand systems that operate as costeffectively as possible. The necessary seed volume has to be distributed accurately, from 0.8 to 210 lbs/acre / 0.9 kg to 350 kg per hectare. Exact seed placement is the key to financial success with guaranteed yield and improved quality.

The AEROSEM sowing system – the key to quality

The sowing system consists of a large metering wheel with 2 x 12 staggered cells. Two metering wheels with 24 fi ne metering cells are located on each side.
The drive shaft of the metering wheel can be shifted quickly and easily. The large or smaller metering wheels are thus switched on and off by moving the drive shaft.
The cells draw a constant fl ow of seed from the seed hopper and feeds it into the centre of the rising air stream. The large, low-noise fan is driven by belts or by a hydraulic motor.
To empty the hopper an opening is located under the seed metering wheel. By moving a lever the seed can be discharged directly out of the hopper.
The distributor head has up to 40 outlets – a row spacing of 4.92" / 125 mm is possible for AEROSEM 3000 and 4000, 5.9" / 150 mm on AEROSEM 6000.
The AEROSEM F models are equipped with 2 distributor heads.

The pneumatic sowing system

Hydraulic fan drive (option on AEROSEM, standard on AEROSEM F)

The hydraulic fan drive improves operating comfort and increases the controlla bility of the fan. Load sensing is available as an option. Only using the oil fl ow as required.
Dust protection system is standard..

Careful seed transport:

The metering wheel feeds the seed into the centre of the rising air stream. This ensures that the seed cannot contact the side walls of the riser tube. The germination potential of the seed is maintained.
The high air volume and low air speed protect the seed against damage and loss of dressing.

Shape of coulter and harrow

Regardless of whether you are operating on light soil, heavy soil or damp soil Ð the best possible placement of the seed is the key to a successful harvest.
Various shapes of coulter are available.

SHAPE OF COULTER

Normal-s-coulter

Highly suitable for most soil conditions.
A protective flap closes the coulter automatically if the machine moves backwards.
The coulter avoids obstacles such as stones.
Skids can be bolted to the coulter for light soil.

Wide band coulter

The wide band coulter is used for planting greenland, and is gaining popularity for grain crops.
The coulter places the seed over a width of 8 cm. The seeds drop onto a wedge which distributes them over the whole width of the coulter.
A protective flap closes the coulter if the machine moves backwards.

Disc coulters

The serrated SAX disc coulters are suitable for mulch drilling and ensure clog-free operation, even with a lot of organic matter on the surface.

Exact placement - Pöttinger equal pressure system

A constant pressure system keeps the pressure of the coulters uniform over the whole working range. The pressure remains constant when riding up or down.

That is how the placement depth of the seed also remains constant.

HARROW TYPES

VITASEM and AEROSEM seeding machines can adapt ideally to different soil conditions with three different types of following harrow.

Following harrow
with trailed tines. Trouble-free operation even with surface trash.

Coulter following
harrows are mounted right behind the coulters. Ideal for light soil.

Perfect harrow
for especially intensive levelling effect.
All double tines are spring-loaded using a single spring.

PLUS - Spring-loaded coulter return system
The coulter spring prevents the seed tube or coulter from bending when the machine is reversed, or lowered onto the ground.
The PLUS spring-return system also enables the coulters to be exchanged easily (without tools) with wide drill coulters. Disc coulters and pressure rollers are fitted with deep groove ball bearings.

The rotating scraper
ensures that earth cannot stick to the coulter.

Seed hopper

Dust-tight and rain-proof seed hopper with metal cover. The front cover section can be opened for inspection purposes
The hopper is easy to fill thanks to its low top edge and large opening
Also suitable for filling using big bags and augers
Favourable centre of gravity - the weight is positioned very close to the tractor

The metering sytem - The key to quality

The meteringing system consists of a large metering wheel with 2 x 12 staggered cells. 24 fine metering cells are located on each side
Large or small metering cells are engaged or disengaged quickly and easily by shifting metering wheel driveshaft
The metering wheels feed the seed into the centre of the rising air stream - grains do not hit the walls of the riser tubes so seed does not lose its germination potential
The fan is protected against foreign particles, is quiet and is driven mechanically or hydraulically

Mounting - A reliable connection

A-frame triangle with quick-release couplings on both sides provides a secure mounting
The drill when dismounted is supported by parking stands

Unbeatable technology

A smooth running gearbox submerged in oil drives the three-section metering wheel - uniform distribution of seed even at low metering wheel speeds
