The pneumatic sowing system
High seed prices force the farmer to operate as cost-effectively as possible. The necessary seed volume has to be distributed accurately, from 0.5 kg to 450 kg per hectare. It is therefore essential that arable farmland is serviced using modern, compact seed drills. Exact seed placement is the key to financial success with guaranteed yield and increased quality.
The Sowing System
The sowing system consists of a large metering wheel with 2 x 12 staggered cells. 24 fine metering cells are located on each side.
The drive shaft of the metering wheel can be shifted quickly and easily. The rough or fine metering wheels are thus switched on and off by shifting the drive shaft.
The cells draw a constant flow of seed from the seed hopper
and feeds it into the centre of the rising air stream.
The large, low-noise blower is driven by belts or by a hydraulic motor.
The distributor head has up to 40 outlets.
VITASEM
Dust-free seed The distributor head is integrated in the seed hopper and is protected against contact with dust or dressing agent. Seed that is not required due to tramlines falls back into the seed hopper. It is not redistributed to the other coulters. That saves a large quantity of seed.
Powerful blower Even if there are considerable changes in speed, the blower has sufficient reserve to guarantee uniform delivery of seed to the distributor head. A hydraulic motor powered by the tractor hydraulics can be supplied as an option. Dust protection system is also optional.
A combined packer chassis unit (instead of a separate transport chassis) considerably shortens the length of the machine. The advantages are improved manoeuvrability and less weight.
Two-gang, smooth running disc harrow This universal harrow is also good on heavy soil with large quantities of harvest trash. The maintenancefree, rubber-mounted 510 mm diameter discs loosen the soil on the surface providing a layer of finestructured earth at seed placement depth. The middle section is integrated into the machine; the dimensions of the folding elements on either side determine the working width.
The chassis is fitted with wide tyres to re-compact the soil, each tyre covering 4 seed drills. To protect the soil the machine is supported by all wheels at headlands. The chassis frame always remains at the same height, only the disc harrow and seed coulter rails are lifted. On the road the machine is transported on four wheels, the two wheels in the middle are raised to improve stability.
The seed coulter rails are equipped with double disc coulters Each of the disc coulters is guided by pressure roll to ensure uniform seed placement depth. The depth is adjusted centrally with coulter pressure applied hydraulically in the range 50 to 130 kg. The maintenance-free rubber mounting elements provide optimum freedom of movement for each unit.
Generously dimensioned external distributor (C8 features two distributors) deliver a precise flow of seed over the full working width. Seed falls back into hopper when tramlines are enabled.
The cavernous longitudinal seed tank with roller-blind cover holds 3000 litres on the C6 (can be enlarged to hold 3800 litres), and 4000 l (5000 l) on the C8. The tank can be filled using a loader bucket, Big-Bags or auger.
The three-part design ensures perfect ground tracking over a maximum working width The folding disc harrow, packer and seed rail elements follow the contours of the ground. Freedom of movement upwards is unlimited while downwards an angle of up to 4° is possible. These elements are preloaded using nitrogen accumulators to provide equal pressure distribution over the whole working width.
