The trends in soil preparation and seed drill technology

Due to the challenging climatic influences, it is primary tillage implements that are currently impacting the market. Regionally, more and more primary tillage implements are being used. This trend has been triggered by the extreme weather conditions in recent years (heavy rain and weather windows too short for drilling). 

Offering 58 different models of SERVO plough, PÖTTINGER is able to perfectly cover this bandwidth. New to the SERVO family is an all-rounder for the toughest applications: the SERVO 45 S is strong, reliable and robust. Available as a 6-furrow NOVA or NOVA PLUS version, it is designed for up to 350 hp.

Thanks to the unique SERVOMATIC control centre, the plough can be matched to the tractor quickly and easily. This enables a perfect setup to ensure the low draft of the SERVO in all operating conditions. 

In order to achieve perfect working conditions even on ploughed fields, we have developed a front levelling board for the TERRASEM mulch seed drill. This easily breaks up larger clods and levels the soil surface ahead of the seed drill tools. 

High costs as a result of extended machinery operation and multiple passes are tackled by PÖTTINGER with the AEROSEM, the award-winning pneumatic machine for seed drilling and precision maize planting. With the AEROSEM the number of times you drive across the field is reduced to a single pass. The savings are also reflected in the low investment costs: only one machine is required since with the AEROSEM you can prepare the seedbed and plant maize seed with precision in a single pass.

Stubble cultivation is still indispensable for promoting mechanical weed control and the germination of volunteers. It is also extremely important that the drainage capacity of the soil is maintained in order to prevent erosion. That is why as loose a surface as possible should be left behind following stubble cultivation or primary tillage with the stubble cultivator or disc harrow. Our answer to this challenge is the newly developed TANDEM CONOROLL conical ring roller that creates consolidated ridges with sufficient free area to absorb the surface water. The high working quality of the disc harrow ensures reliable penetration even in very dry conditions and excellent mixing in of harvest residues.

SYNKRO 3020

On the SYNKRO MULTILINE, which performs primary tillage or seedbed preparation with tines, the seed drill is mounted piggyback on the roller chassis so that the tractor hitch is not stressed and no extra ballast is required on the front end of the tractor. This unit delivers cost-effective, high-performance drilling technology that enables sensational flexibility during operation. Used solo or in a combination, the new SYNKRO MULTILINE releases enormous potential.

The TEGOSEM catch crop seed drill is used in combination with a PÖTTINGER stubble cultivator or disc harrow and enables soil preparation and catch crop seeding in a single pass. The TEGOSEM can be used with hitch-mounted machines as well as trailed machines and is equipped complete with mounting brackets and loading platform. The seed hopper, loading platform and steps match each other to form a compact unit and fully comply with the new CE directives and safety regulations. The TEGOSEM can even be used on machines with rear tine rollers.
