Pöttinger TOP windrower for top performance
Farming group relies on Austrian quality
The farming group Lidauer-Papst KG from Wolfsegg in the region of Upper Austria has recently started using a four-rotor TOP 1252 rake made by Pöttinger. Two families - Lidauer and Papst – have been operating a dairy cattle business together in this community with around 2,000 inhabitants since 2003. They offer direct marketing of farm ice cream under the name "hausruckmili". This involves rearing 75 dairy cattle and the necessary new stock.
Clean, energy-rich feed is the basis for healthy, fertile animals to ensure the sustained success of the farmer: careful forage handling is top priority with Pöttinger rakes. The farmers have been using a Pöttinger side-swath rake for many years. The implement has served well, both on their own farm as well as in operation for other farmers. The long service life was of course one of the reasons for deciding on the new windrower – a high performance rake for professional applications. "We decided on a machine from Pöttinger because we appreciate the bond to an Austrian manufacturer, who is also located very close by," reports Wolfgang Papst. He also rated good and prompt service as one of the decision-making criteria. "Because we work together a great deal with the machine ring, we do not have many machines on the farm ourselves. But the machines we do have need to deliver the right quality, and that is the case with Pöttinger," explained the farm manager. The tractor that is used to operate the high performance TOP 1252 large area rake is a John Deere 6830 Premium.
