Optimum germination conditions

There are three factors that are key deciders on the emergence of our plants: temperature, moisture and oxygen. These parameters are determined primarily by the type of soil, the location and the weather.

In terms of farming, these three parameters are difficult to influence. One of the biggest influencing factors is the pore volume of the soil. A loose, crumbly tilth structure with many medium-sized pores can absorb water better and provide the roots of each plant with sufficient space and oxygen. It can also warm up evenly and quickly, creating optimum germination conditions.

To ensure these optimum germination conditions, special attention needs to be paid to seedbed preparation and seed placement quality.

A perfectly prepared seedbed features a uniform, level finish, an ideal proportion of fine soil and optimum consolidation. This creates perfect germination conditions for rapid and uniform growth of the plants.

The V-shaped arrangement of the DUAL DISC coulters, combined with a disc offset 25 mm to the rear, ensures a clean seed slot and the best starting conditions for the seed material.

Thanks to the large coulters and the equal-length coulter arms with a coulter offset of 30 cm, the DUAL DISC coulter system ensures maximum reliability, even with high volumes of harvest residues and challenging soil conditions.
