Resource conservation and sustainability are now more important than ever and are becoming even more so. PÖTTINGER is also committed to achieving these goals.
To effectively remove weeds at the same time as providing optimum support for the crop, PÖTTINGER has equipped the FLEXCARE V row crop cultivator with the AMICO F front hopper and a distribution system for depositing mineral fertilisers.
Supremely adaptable
Deploying the FLEXCARE distribution system together with the AMICO front hopper combines the advantages of mechanical weed control with perfectly timed fertiliser application, deposited right next to the row of plants.
The distribution system can be used on row widths of 50 cm and above.

To deliver precise fertiliser placement close to the crop, a separator cyclone is mounted on the hoe element between the distributor head and the fertiliser coulter.
This reduces the air pressure so that the fertiliser reaches the ground under very little pressure and remains precisely in a band. This minimises the amount of dust created and keeps the fertiliser as close as possible to the plant roots.
On-demand nutrient application at short notice means that only as much fertiliser is distributed as can actually be absorbed by the crop. This is good for production costs and prevents valuable nutrients from being flushed down into deeper soil layers.

Particularly during the later stages of growth, the AMICO F front hopper in combination with the distribution system enables an on-demand nutrient supply to the crop.
Because the fertiliser is placed in the soil itself and not on the plants, there is no risk of fertiliser burn on maize, for example, which would stunt crop growth.

The fertiliser distributor head is mounted in the centre of the machine and is available with 12 or 16 outlets, depending on the number of rows on the row crop cultivator. Depending on the exact configuration, the fertiliser can be placed on one or both sides of the crop.

The position in which the corrosion-resistant stainless steel cyclones are mounted is variable and is aligned with the equipment on the hoe elements.
This flexible configuration offers good accessibility and flexibility for adjusting the row crop cultivator.
The cyclones can be easily removed when not in use. The ends of the hoses are then fixed to the suspension chain.

The fertiliser coulters are clamped directly onto the hoe shares.
This way, the fertiliser is deposited in bands below the surface and then covered with soil.
As a result, nutrient losses are reduced and the fertiliser can act immediately.
