Cereals 2016 - 15th/16th June
The major arable farming event "Cereals" this year was hosted by Cambridgeshire farmer Robert Law
The major arable farming event "Cereals" this year was hosted by Cambridgeshire farmer Robert Law on his 1,600 Ha Chrishall Grange Farm. Attracting more than 24,000 visitors the site hosted more than 300 exhibitors whom were displaying everything an arable farmer might possibly need. It was clear that this year more than ever farmers were looking for technology and equipment that could offer real cost saving benefits.
Pottinger UK were pleased to debuting several new items this year in addition to some established PÖTTINGER products. The new TEGOSEM cover crop seeder was mounted to a TERRADISC 3001 compact disc harrow demonstrating the flexibility of this system to establish cover crops or oil seed rape. Also fitted to the TERRADISC was the all new CONOROLL. This new design of roller offers tremendous weight savings compared to heavy steel ring rollers but still offers excellent re-consolidation features thanks to its concentric design.
Of great interest to those visiting was the AEROSEM 3002 ADD equipped with the unique PCS (Precision Combi Seeding) that allows the precision planting of maize via this conventional combination drill unit. To illustrate the drills flexibility our sales team constructed a representation of the maize plants sown earlier this season in the field. This allowed visitors to fully understand the versatility of the drill and inspect the vigorous plants sown by the unit. We received several strong enquiries for on farm machine demonstrations and were able to conclude sales of PÖTTINGER machines with some of those visitors shortly afterwards. Thanks to all those that called in and visited us, we enjoyed meeting and discussing with you the PÖTTINGER range.
