First mower with collector in action in Ireland
Impressive début performance of NOVACAT X8
The name O’Connor is inseparably connected to Ireland. Now the NOVACAT X8 ED collector is inseparably connected to the O’Connors. At the end of May, the first collector mower on the Emerald Isle was demonstrated at the O’Connor brothers' farm in Kanturk, County Cork, in southwest Ireland. The two brothers - Richie and Sean - operate the farm as contractors. Their father Liam is also still actively involved.
Despite the sunny weather, they experienced difficult conditions during the first job. The field was extremely wet with several centimetres of water in places. However, the mower still turned in an excellent performance: father and sons were impressed with the uniform swath formation. Working in a wide range of forage densities, the results were consistently good. The O’Connors were particularly impressed by the cutting quality. Top cutting quality is especially important to them because they need to mow around 800 ha on this farm.
