PÖTTINGER at Smart Farming Days
Digital agriculture for today and tomorrow
This year's Smart Farming Days in Bohmte, Lower Saxony, provided an exciting insight into the world of digital agriculture. Organised by DKE-Data, the consortium behind agrirouter, from 14 to 16 June, the event provided many impressions of the current state-of-the-art and future capabilities of smart farming. The central question was: How can agronomic data be collected, transferred and evaluated in such a way that it benefits farmers?
Visitors were able to experience the latest solutions from the agricultural machinery industry during live demonstrations and at the manufacturers' trade fair stands. In-depth forums with panels of experts from digitalisation and agriculture also discussed current issues in detail.
At the Pöttinger Landtechnik stand, farmers were able to find out more about the Pöttinger Connect telemetry unit, among other things. This enables smart farming applications to be used with selected Pöttinger machines, regardless of the technical capabilities of the tractor. Using this unit, machine data can be sent wirelessly to various farm management systems via an agrirouter interface. In addition, a task controller adds the Section Control and Variable Rate functions. On the Pöttinger TOP 1403 C rake, for example, the rotors lift and lower automatically at the headland.
