HIT parade: the new 4 and 6 rotor tedders

Professional technology for every size of farm

PÖTTINGER has added the latest HIT generation to its range of tedders. The very latest technical developments on the larger tedders have now been integrated into the smaller 4 and 6 rotor tedders with working widths of 4.40 m to 7.45 m. The PÖTTINGER HIT parade now offers the perfect tedder for every farm.

Short and compact

HIT tedders are especially noticeable for their short headstock. This brings the centre of gravity closer to the tractor. The heart-shaped pivot pin ensures the machine is in the centre position when it is raised. The vertical point of rotation reliably prevents under-running when working downhill. A slotted hole enables operation with a MULTITAST jockey wheel and rigid top linkage. PÖTTINGER implemented this feature during development to deliver the best ground tracking.  A practical PTO shaft holder and ergonomic hose tidy make coupling and uncoupling a great deal easier. A transport interlock flap ensures the unit can be driven safely on the road.

Excellent on slopes

The double-acting shock absorbing struts on both sides ensure the machine is always centred. This is especially important on slopes. Even at high working speeds, these struts ensure that the tedder runs very smoothly. The HIT is also stabilised during road transport. To prevent the tines from scraping the ground at the headland, all 6-rotor tedders can be equipped with LIFTMATIC as an option. With this unique feature, PÖTTINGER guarantees additional ground clearance at headlands.

Always one wheel ahead

MULTITAST, the proven PÖTTINGER jockey wheel system ensures optimum ground tracking for ideal protection of the sward and forage. The jockey wheel can be shifted independently forward or further back and can be mounted on the left or right.

Unique DYNATECH rotor unit

PÖTTINGER has now implemented the new rotor units and booms used on large tedders on the smaller HIT models too, to guarantee clean and tidy operation: tidy pick-up, clean forage, tidy distribution pattern and a clean machine. These are the key advantages of the DYNATECH rotor unit.

The rotor diameter of 1.30 m on the HIT 6.61 with five swept-back arms per rotor and 1.42 m on the HIT 4.47 and HIT 6.69 and 1.67 m on the HIT 4.54 and HIT 6.80 each with six swept-back tine arms ensure the best spreading quality and perfect ground tracking. The swept-back shape of the arms ensures that the crop cannot snag and there is no wrapping around the rotor. The unique rotor geometry has several additional advantages: Forage is picked up more easily and is subjected to less of a beating between the tine arms, meaning lower losses due to disintegration. This careful uptake is achieved by the sweeping arms that 'pull' the tines. The tines are under less stress, so service life is increased. The proven, closed tine security system is also integrated into these models. The tine carrier arms are precisely positioned on the rotor plates and are bolted to the hub. This guarantees even better stability at no increase in weight. The spreading angle can be adjusted on each rotor in three steps without extra tools, resulting in the best match to forage conditions. Large gears and bearings on the DYNATECH rotors ensure smooth operation. The closed angular gear units are equipped with grease lubrication systems.

Sealed-lubricated single and double universal joints transfer power positively and backlash-free for extremely smooth running of the rotor transmissions. The gear unit casing is cast.

PÖTTINGER offers a choice of fenceline tedding systems. From mechanical individual wheel adjustment to a central mechanical system through to a convenient hydraulically adjustable fenceline tedding system. PÖTTINGER has provided these solutions to suit different operating requirements and budgets.

Safe on the move

To ensure that these machines can be transported safely on the road, PÖTTINGER offers several decisive advantages: The HIT 6.61 has been engineered to provide as narrow as possible a transport width of just 2.55 m. On the four-rotor HIT 4.47 and HIT 4.54 models, the outer rotors can be pivoted inwards 180 degrees to minimise the transport width.  Safety is a priority, which is why strong guard rails, warning signs and lighting are standard equipment.
