Successful mowing in New Zealand
PÖTTINGER mowers impress with the best ground tracking and increased efficiency
Shane and Marie Donovan run a farm in Tailhape (NZ), where the ground conditions are often a challenge for farmers.
The Donovan family chose a mower combination with the NOVACAT 301 ALPHA MOTION front mower and NOTACAT 302 rear-mounted mower.
These mowers have been designed for optimum ground tracking, even on steep and difficult terrain.
"The rounded, low profile front edge lets the cutter bar glide smoothly over the ground and separates the crop tidily from the sward. The conveyor effect has been improved thanks to the rounded conical surfaces of the mower discs. Optimum crop flow is ensured as a result," explains David Donnelly from the New Zealand PÖTTINGER Partner Origin Agroup.

Forage flow through the EXTRA DRY tine-type conditioner
The mower is also equipped with the EXTRA DRY tine-type conditioner, which uses V-shaped tines to convey the forage through the curved wide-spread distributor cover that ensures a loose and uniform placement. Adjustable guide vanes distribute the flow of forage over the whole mowed width.
The main advantage for the farm is the increase in productivity while reducing operating costs. Shane Donovan reports on an increase in average speed of up to 4 kph and much lower fuel consumption costs. This purchase was the right decision for the family.
