Front mower alpha-motion now even more eye-catching

Pöttinger - the ag-tech specialist - has achieved a major breakthrough with the NOVACAT alpha-motion and EUROCAT alpha-motion front mowers that has made a lasting impact on the mower technology market: the alpha-motion headstock enables the entire mower frame to adapt to the ground's contours. Each movement controls the carrier frame to ensure a "floating cut". The result is a unique quality of swath protection thanks to perfect guidance over every contour, even at high speed and on wet ground. The "Machine of the Year 2006" has now been optimised both technically and visually.

Summary of new features
NOVACAT alpha-motion front mowers were previously available in working widths of 3 m and 3.5 m - now 2.6 m is also available. The EUROCAT alpha-motion drum-type mower is now available in 3 m. All models are available with swath formers and flail-type conditioners, while the NOVACAT alpha-motion models are also available with roller-type conditioners as an alternative. The EUROCAT range can also be specified with an infinitely-variable cutting height adjustment system, which is easy to use. The casing and the side guards now look like the NOVACAT X8 and V10 mower combos: the side guards are now made from solid, rigid pressed steel sections, which area also available with hydraulic folding. The conditioning intensity of the flail-type conditioners has been optimised and the raised hood allows a looser, more even flow of crop to pass through. Servicing has also been made much easier: the lubrication intervals on the PTO shafts has been extended to 150 hours and the shafts are now easier to access and maintain. A practical knife box provides space for spare blades in case knives need to be changed out in the field.
