Plenty of space for the swath: TOP 852 C s-line

With the new TOP 852 C s-line Pöttinger has developed a double rake with central swath placement that offers plenty of space for the swath: a rotor lifting system with the axle inside the arc of the rotor (steered axle), provides real "intelligent lifting" for a ground clearance of around 60 cm.

 The glorious seven

Twelve forage drying businesses in Bavaria (GER) have been using Pöttinger loader wagons successfully for a number of years. The forage drying business Lamerdingen eG runs seven Pöttinger loader wagons simultaneously, for example. Leonhard Welzmiller, Managing Director of Lamerdingen eG Forage Dryers reports on their extremely positive experience.

Eight in one go in Czech Republic

The agricultural association AGRINO, s. r. o. from Oldrichov in the Tábor region (CZ) farms an area of 1,400 ha. They have a total of eight Pöttinger machines in operation, which were purchased between 2007 and 2009. The managing director of the agricultural association reports enthusiastically on the performance of his 'octet'.

 'autocut' impresses farmers

Steyrtal, one of the first silage cooperatives in the Upper Austria region, now relies on the automatic knife sharpening system "autocut" on a JUMBO 6610 combiline. The level of convenience offered by the sharpening system has impressed the farmers. Bruno Kleinhagauer operates the combined wagon.

Question of the month: Which technology has the greatest influence on clean forage?

Raw ash content is an indicator of the contamination of forage. The lower the raw ash content, the higher the base forage quality. This leads to improved feeding and animal health. The various stages of the harvest process contribute in different ways to the cleanliness of the base forage. On which machine – after mowing (5 to 7 cm) - does the adjustment of working height have the greatest influence on clean forage?

 2. VIDEO NEWS
 New video: NOVACAT 402/442

New to the NOVACAT family of rear mowers: the 402 and 442 with working widths of 3.88 m and 4.3 m respectively. The central element of these two models is the hydraulic lower linkage arm that makes it easy to hitch up. How this works and the other advantages of these machines have been summarised in a short video clip.

 3. A GENERAL TIP
 The intelligent cowshed

The VDMA (German association of mechanical engineers and plant builders) has produced an extremely informative film about the intelligent cowshed: robots that milk, and cows that ride on a carousel. Because base forage quality plays a very important role, they also take a look at forage harvesting. Pöttinger is involved, of course, where technology is used to produce high forage quality.
