Pöttinger was very successful at AGRITECHNICA
The leading agricultural technology show brought many awards and many visitors
The AGRITECHNICA, the highlight of the tradeshow calendar, broke all records yet again and ended with enormous success for Pöttinger. Around 450,000 visitors were at the world's largest agricultural technology show to find out more about the current trends.
Pöttinger's radiant new look
A completely new appearance with eye-catching backdrops, spacious display areas and an unbelievable 2,000 square metres of gleaming, friendly and inviting atmosphere attracted thousands of visitors to the stand. The machines - mainly innovations for the 2014 season - were displayed in spacious surroundings and made a very professional impression. However, it was not just the attractive trade fair stand that made the show such a success for Pöttinger: the whole team can look back on a very successful exhibition.
Awards one after the other
The DLG (German Agricultural Association)
awarded two new Pöttinger systems two of the 33 Silver Medals for
outstanding innovation.
IDS (Intelligent Distributor System) and PCS
(Precision Combi Seeding) on the latest generation of AEROSEM seed
drill were bestowed with Silver Medals.
In addition to the enormous interest shown
in the new AEROSEM it created an even greater stir at AGRITECHNICA:
The technical editors at DLV (German
Agricultural Publishing) awarded 'Machine of the Year 2014' in 16
categories. The AEROSEM received the sought-after title in the seed
drill category.
What the jury said:
In a nutshell, "Double so good" is how the system behind the Pöttinger AEROSEM 1002 has been described. This is a new generation of pneumatic seed drill equipped with the award-winning IDS (Intelligent Distributor System) and PCS (Precision Combi Seeding) developments. With the hydraulic blower drive system, which develops 400 rpm with around 25 litres of oil, between 1.5 and 340 kg/ha is transported through the drill at travelling speeds of up to 12 kph. The newly developed IDS distributor head feeds a consistent number of seeds to each row when tramlines are engaged and saves seed material as a result. Power Control and ISOBUS aboard the tractor provide the basis for this system. The PCS precision seed system is integrated to make the pneumatic seed drill dual-purpose. The AEROSEM 1002 features up to ten precision seed elements for a row spacing of 37.5 and 75 cm. This means that the drill can be used to plant cereals as well as maize and sunflowers. But that is not all. Fertiliser or grass seed can also be deposited at the same time. To this end the seed hopper is divided into two segments: 400 litres for precision seed material and 850 litres for fertiliser or grass. The individual seed metering system is driven independently of the standard metering system while seed separation is mechanical. The separate seeds are then transported by an advanced airflow system to the DualDisc coulters. The Pöttinger system guarantees precise separation without a vertical drop so that the seeds are equally spaced along the slot.
Pöttinger had loads to offer
Alongside the agricultural innovations, merchandise fans were also well catered for. At the Pöttinger Inshop visitors were able to purchase gifts, clothing and the latest scale models to their hearts' content.
As a potential employer in the agricultural technology sector, the Human Resources department were also available with advice and information. Young farm machinery technicians congregated at Job Corner to find out more about jobs available at Pöttinger.
Pöttinger has once again made the fascination of farm machinery tangible with its power for innovation and expertise at the world's largest agricultural technology show.
