There is a new addition to Pöttinger's alpine series in the form of the NOVAALPIN 306 with a working width of 3 m. In doing so, the agricultural machinery manufacturer acknowledges the trend for larger mowers even in the highly specialised alpine sector. Pöttinger has managed to keep the weight of the machine below 500 kg, despite the cutting width of 3 m. Highlights on this new specialist machine include a driveline to the right-hand side of the unit to improve visibility in front of the mower, a reinforced headstock for mountain mowers and tractors as well as larger outer bearings on the cutter bar suspension through the outer discs. The mower features a central yoke suspension system to provide a freedom of movement of +/- 4 degrees that is stabilised using leaf springs. A side shift system provides 200 mm of movement to each side controlled by a hydraulic cylinder on a parallelogram frame. The mower is also available with hydraulic side guard folding if desired.

The Austrian agricultural magazine "Fortschrittliche Landwirt" covered the new front mower and recorded a video of the new NOVAALPIN 306. The film explains very well why the mower is so suitable for working on slopes.
