The FTMTA Machinery Show, one of the most important agricultural shows in Ireland, took place from 7 to 9 February 2013 in Punchestown – near Dublin. Pöttinger has been represented on the "Emerald Isle" by its own subsidiary since August and this was the first time that we presented our products with our own stand at the show. The dedicated team were kept well busy looking after visitors to the stand. The machinery made in Austria was on view for visitors both inside the hall and outside.

Pöttinger, a 5-star company

As usual at agricultural technology shows, the most impressive innovations are presented with awards. The highest award at the FTMTA Machinery Show is three stars; Pöttinger won a total of five: The Autocut system was in the 2 star category which won as the product contained an important new construction or composition in comparison to former products on the market. The X8 was in the 3 star category and won due to a new operational or constructional principle and having noticeable improvements regarding effects on ergonomics/comfort/enviroment and the economy.

Because autocut has already been available on the market for some time, the jury were able to award "only" two stars. And that is just the latest addition to the already lengthy list of accolades awarded to the automatic knife sharpening system.

On 8 February the Institution of Agricultural Engineers invited Pöttinger to an event entitled "Changes in the grassland machinery sector - effects and measures". Heinz Pöttinger took the opportunity to present the history, objectives and concepts of the Pöttinger company. Sven Niels, the Area Sales Manager, Pöttinger Ireland’s team and strategies. The Head of Product Management, Thomas Reiter, delivered Pöttinger's paper on efficient forage harvesting and the contribution made by Pöttinger machinery. As a result the approx. 80 guests present were able to gain a comprehensive and positive impression of the Austrian agricultural manufacturer and its strategy for the Emerald Isle.
