Update: HARVEST ASSIST 4.0 app optimises forage harvesting
New features support grassland management during harvesting and beyond
The popular HARVEST ASSIST app from PÖTTINGER increases profitability, makes work significantly easier, provides efficient management and extensive logistics support, and contributes to consistently high feed quality. The new 4.0 version displays the locations of fields and clamps, organises process sequences, tracks and guides machines, all in real time with a clear and intuitive user interface. There are no subscription costs for using the HARVEST ASSIST app.
The PÖTTINGER CONNECT telemetry unit that is installed on each machine is now available in two versions: one for ISOBUS machines and one for non-ISOBUS machines. PÖTTINGER CONNECT turns mowers, rakes, balers and loader wagons into smart machines that communicate with HARVEST ASSIST.
Live machine data gives an overview of key harvest indicators
In HARVEST ASSIST 4.0, machine data is continuously made available to everyone in the harvesting group in real time. Data sharing gives all group participants insight into key harvest data such as transport and working times, the process status of each field, and the amount of crop that has been harvested. Regardless of whether working for a contractor, farm, or machinery ring; everyone in the group can see what each machine is doing at any given moment. In addition, the nutrient requirement of each field can be easily calculated by comparing the annual forage growth.
Swath mapping: location, position, status
The new 4.0 version of the app displays the location, position and status of each swath in an intuitive map that is always up-to-date. High density points in the swath are clearly marked on the map so that the driver can slow down in good time if necessary to avoid blockages in the harvest machine. What is more, no crop is ever left behind in the field, so nothing goes to waste and there are no forage residues in the next cut.
Analyse and optimise harvesting with balers
When using the app with a baler, the bale map not only displays the weight of each bale, but also its moisture content and exact location. This is useful for deciding the sequence in which the bales are collected and stored. What is particularly interesting for contractors and machinery rings is that the app displays the exact baling time per bale, loading time per load, as well as performance data such as output per hectare, plus the working time and transport time of other machines such as mowers and rakes. This makes it possible to compare the yield across different seasons, cuts, and fields. The data provides a sound basis for calculating machine costs, and ultimately, the price for each job.
HARVEST ASSIST is a valuable tool for punctual, successful grassland management to support farm operations during harvesting and beyond.
