Starting on 12 September 2025, the requirements of the new EU data act must be met. An important point is that BEFORE a purchase contract is signed for a product that can store data (e.g. an agricultural machine with an electronic control unit), the seller must provide the new owners or future users with at least the following information:

• a) the type, format and estimated volume of the product data;
• b) whether the networked product can generate data continuously and in real time;
• c) whether data is stored on a device or a remote server;
• d) information on how the user can access, retrieve and, if necessary, erase the data.

PÖTTINGER actively supports its business partners in taking on this challenge together. For this purpose, we will provide information on the EU data act on the PÖTTINGER Partner Portal from September 2025 in the "Machine sales à Sales information/Price list" section. In addition, from September 2025, the PÖTIC configurator will automatically include an information page about the EU data act in the offer of relevant machines, as well as the contact email address data-act@poettinger.at. This email address makes it easy and straightforward for owners and future users to request and obtain the information listed above.
