The new high-flyer among the mower combinations
PÖTTINGER took mower technology to a new altitude at Agritechnica 2013 with the new NOVACAT S12 mower combination. The NOVACAT S12 is the largest mounted mower combination in the world requiring just 160 hp for a full 11.20 metres of working width. Now the smaller NOVACAT S10 joins the range. With a working width of 9.52 m, this mower combination offers the highest performance at a very low power requirement of only 130 hp. Utilising this combinations' output of 11 hectares per hour is a real joy, plus the NOVACAT S10 excels in the value-for-money field. The NOVACAT mower combinations are in a class of their own when it comes to performance, efficiency and reliability.
The NOVACAT S10 works brilliantly on corners and provides sufficient overlap between the front and rear mowers whatever the situation. In order to guarantee optimum utilisation of effective working width, the NOVACAT S10 mower unit can be mounted at two different positions on the boom to work with 3-m or 3.50-m-wide front mowers.
One of the key quality criteria at PÖTTINGER is to provide the best possible ground hugging to protect the sward. This is achieved on the NOVACAT S10 mower combination using hydraulic weight alleviation. A clearly-visible pressure gauge is fitted to the mower frame and the ground pressure can be adjusted progressively if needed using a double-acting remote valve. One filling sets the right alleviation to guarantee uniform pressure on the ground - the prerequisite for optimum forage and soil conservation.
The proven NOVACAT cutter bar with quick-change blade system provided as standard forms the heart of this mower combination. Streamlined mower discs ensure perfect crop flow. An optimised counter-chop zone and overlap of the blade paths ensure first-class cutting quality at the same time as best protection of the sward.
The centre pivot suspension on the NOVACAT S10 allows a freedom of movement of +/- 22 degrees. A lifting clearance at headlands of 50 cm is available as a result. In order to guarantee optimum utilisation of effective mower width, there is a choice of two different mounting positions when working with 3.0 or 3.50-metre-wide front mowers. The mower unit is stabilized by a small cylinder to cancel out oscillation. This makes turning easier and ensures safety and stability at the headland and during transport, at the same time as protecting the PTO shaft. The hydraulic collision safety device provides optimum protection to maximise the service life of the machine. The mower units are protected independently of each other.
During transport the mower is folded backwards through 90 degrees by a double-acting hydraulic connection. The front guards automatically fold up hydraulically. This provides a low transport width of just 2.20 metres for compact and safe transport of the mower. Wide during operation - compact during transport. Suitable lighting is supplied as standard. The NOVACAT S10 can be parked in the working position or in the road transport position.
Operating this machine could not be more convenient: only one double-acting connection is needed. Individual mower unit lifting is provided as standard by using a preselect rocker switch. The mower combination is moved into the transport position by pressing a switch and actuating the spool valve. No lanyard is required.
