VITASEM seed drills – Calibration made simple
Mechanical. Practical. Great.
Mechanical, practical and great, that best describes our latest generation of VITASEM mechanical seed drills. To enable farmers to benefit from the best seed germination, the VITASEM seed drills offer a wide range of equipment options that make these machines perfectly adapted to different requirements.
Practical configuration: On the linkage-mounted seed drills, everything is operated easily and conveniently from the left-hand side of the machine. The calibration system, agitator shaft adjustment and the access to the loading platform are all located on this side.

Correct calibration is essential for uniform seed distribution and consequently for homogeneous emergence. At PÖTTINGER we make the calibration process easier for you with numerous useful features to ensure that what you want to sow actually arrives at the seed coulter. Compared to previous machines, the calibration process is now even more convenient.
Agitators are available as an option for seed material that needs to be encouraged to flow smoothly and prevent a build-up above the metering wheels.
Mechanical calibration
Calibration is performed mechanically as standard by turning a calibration handle. The number of rotations is displayed on the terminal. An acoustic signal sounds during the last five revolutions so the operator is ready for the end of the calibration test.
You always have an overview and errors during the calibration process are prevented.

Calibration made simple
Available as an option, an electric calibration system can also be installed on seed drills with mechanical metering. The motor rotates at a constant speed and saves you from having to rotate a crank by hand. Calibration errors are reduced and precision increased as a result.
This makes it as easy to operate as machines with electric metering.

Clear view of the calibration tray
At the start of the calibration process, only one central lever needs to be operated to pivot the two calibration trays in and out. A major advantage on VITASEM seed drills is the clear view into the calibration trays. This means you can see the metering rate of each row and can immediately make adjustments if a metering unit is set incorrectly.

The calibration bag is simply hooked onto the seed hopper with the optional spring balance weighing scales. The weight of the calibrated seed is easy to read and the seed can then be quickly tipped back into the hopper.
The short distances covered by the seed speed up the calibration test and make things a great deal easier.

Large storage compartment
There is a spacious storage compartment on the right-hand side of the machine for the spring balance weighing scales and calibration bag so that all the calibration equipment is safely stowed away.
